My mission for today is to build a post using “page bundles” and figure out some image processing stuff.

Update: Yay! I got the page bundles part working. Next up is trying out some image stuff. I found a really nice guide here, so I’m looking forward to giving this a try. It would be nice if Hugo shipped with at least some basic shortcodes to make incorporating pictures into your site a bit easier, but on the other hand I understand the power of pure abstraction and letting people figure out what works for them. Anyway… let’s see some pictures:

Well, that wasn’t too bad. I added her img shortcode and that was that.

Next, let’s get fancy and try multiple pics. Hmm, not quite what I was looking for - it sounds like I would need to do some CSS to make this work a bit better.

Let’s try Hugo’s built in figure shortcode… No luck with that.

Time to search good old google for a gallery shortcode…

OK, this looks promising: mfg92/hugo-shortcode-gallery.

Well, that was super promising, but it didn’t seem to play nicely with the theme I’m trying. Backed that out and trying another from brunoamaral.eu.

Update 7/17/2020: Failed in all my attempts. I just don’t think the gallery examples out there work well with the theme I’m using. Starting over with a new theme that has more features tomorrow.
